Spanish-to-English Translation

Allison graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and minor in Translation and Intercultural Communication, after studying abroad in Argentina, Spain, Puerto Rico, and Cuba.

Allison translated the collection of short plays Teatro Herético (Heretical Theater) by Mexican author Carmen Boullosa. Her translation of Cocinar Hombres (Cooking Up Men) was taught in 2020 at Ithaca College in an undergraduate seminar called "Women/Witches on Stage.” Excerpts of Cooking Up Men have been read at the American Literary Translators Association’s Theatre Translation Table Read and Out of the Wings’ Emerging Translator’s Scratch Night.

She also has experience with journalistic and commercial translation, having translated news and feature articles for El Pais in English, Spain’s highest-circulating daily newspaper, as well as lifestyle blog content for Grupo MContigo.
