Allison Light is an NYC-based musical theater lyricist and book writer in the BMI Lehman Engel Writing Workshop, where she also won the 2021 BMI Jean Banks Award for Best 10-Minute Musical (The Masterpiece, see below, written with Lorrie Doriza).
She was selected for the 2023 Prospect Musicals Lab at Symphony Space, has studied musical theater writing under composer/lyricist Bill Finn, and participated in 2021 María Irene Fornés Playwriting Workshop. Previously, she was Head Writer of the Princeton Triangle Club, the oldest touring collegiate original musical comedy organization in the nation, where she contributed book, lyrics, and sketch for six musicals and received the Milton Lyon Award for Outstanding Writing.
